More To Do At BYU Idaho

Keep your eye on the BYU Idaho event calendar. There is something for everyone with over 3000 activities and events offered each year. Bring your friends or meet some new people! Roller skating, laser tag, dance classes, and service opportunities are just a few of the many options. Let’s highlight a few more:

Game Night

Another fun way to meet friends is to attend one of BYU Idaho’s regular game nights. From Chess to Magic: The Gathering, take your pick of all kinds of board games and card games. Feel free to bring your own games as well! The next game night takes place Thursday, October 13 at 7 pm in Manwaring Center.

Sports and Recreation

You will be happy to know there are so many ways to keep your body warm and in motion this Fall, even as the weather gets colder. Rexburg Recreation offers sports such as softball and pickleball. You could even join the city’s cornhole league!

The campus sports league also has many teams to join as well as sports and fitness classes. From aerobics to cycling and even yoga and fencing, the choices are virtually endless. This is a great chance to try something new.

Health and Personal Development

While you are balancing your academic calendar with social events and recreation, remember to make time for your personal health and development as well. As the days get shorter, nourishing the spirit and taking action toward building your future can be very energizing. Here are a few ideas:

  • Devotionals and Speeches: Check out Amy Wright’s talk on October 11.
  • Volunteer: Give your time and energy to a cause. Some opportunities to be of service include volunteering at the pet shelter, helping out at the cross-country meet, delivering food to the needy, or donating blood at the blood drive.
  • Home Evenings: We highly encourage you to engage with the home evenings and living lessons for a deeply powerful opportunity for growth and relationships.
  • Healthy Dating Workshop: The world of dating can be a big drain on your energy and emotions. These regularly scheduled sessions will give you tools to best handle this important, yet sometimes baffling part of your life.
  • Flu Clinic: Take care of your health and get immunized at the flu clinic on October 13
  • Career Marketplace: These events happen regularly and could lead you to great potential work and career opportunities.
