New Students

We are looking forward to the start of the semester and excited to have you living at Sunrise Village! Here is some important information for you to review before your check-in. We'll have an informative Student Living Meeting at the start of the semester and hold regular office hours to help you throughout your stay.

We send out drafts of your room assignments one month prior to the start of each semester. We usually get lots of feedback as we try to accommodate everyone's request. Sometimes we can't make everything work, and our manager can help you through the process until your final room assignment is given on your check-in packet on check-in weekend.

MAIL & PACKAGES:

Your address is 48 West 2nd South Apt ____ Rexburg, ID 83440. USPS Letters & Packages will be delivered to your mailbox next to the office. Packages will be placed in the adjoining parcel boxes. FedEx & UPS Packages will be delivered to your apartment.

OFFICIAL CHECK-IN TIMES:

We follow the check-in dates given each semester by BYU-Idaho. Our office hours vary with each semester and will be emailed to you with your room assignments. If you need to check-in after hours please email the manager and she will make your key and check-in packet available after hours.

WHAT TO BRING:

It is mandatory that you bring a mattress cover and bedding for a standard twin size bed. If you do not use your cover throughout the term of occupancy you will be responsible for any damage to the mattress up to $100.

We suggest that you bring the following:

  • Pots and pans, dishes, silverware, and cooking items.

  • Linens, mattress cover, towels, and pillows.

  • Garbage containers, plungers, cleaning supplies, laundry basket, etc.

  • We provide the standard kitchen stove, oven, fridge, and microwave. We also provide a vacuum and replacement bags.

  • Small appliances like toasters and irons will need to be furnished by the student.

  • Personal toiletries and laundry detergent (HE detergent for apartments with in-apartment laundry).

Students are NOT allowed to bring used furniture into the complex. Please see your contract for more information.

PAYMENTS:

Use your checking or savings account number and routing number for FREE online payments. All debit/credit transactions are assessed a $25 fee. Rent due dates are posted under open charges in your resident portal.  When you're logged in to the Resident Portal, click the tabs at the top of the page to:

  • View your open and future charges.

  • Print your housing contract.

  • Pay your balance using either your credit card, checking or savings account.

CHECK-OUT & BREAK STORAGE:

Some of you will be making your break travel arrangements soon. Please be aware that your contract ends on the date listed in your contract at 6pm. No late check-outs are permitted. Your white glove cleaning will need to be completed by 10am. We do offer Christmas and Spring Break storage over the breaks for students staying for the next semester. There is no storage over the Summer Session (7-week break).

LAUNDRY:

For students staying in our apartment homes, there is a FREE laundry room centrally located in our common area.  All town homes have laundry in each unit and is free for resident use.

CLEANING RECOMMENDATIONS:

This supply list is for specific tasks that can be difficult; other cleaners you love are always welcome to help get the tasks done. Sunrise Village provides a vacuum and bags. Trash cans, brooms, and mops are not provided.

  • Kitchen:

    • All-purpose cleaner, preferably a de-greaser for the stovetop and hood. A super-scrubby cleaning pad will help.

    • Scour-Stick (pumice stone) for inside of oven. They are available at Wal-Mart in town.

  • Bathroom:

    • For the tub please have several magic erasers and a tough bathroom cleanser that is made for hard water and soap scum. I like Lime-a-way or similar product.

    • Lime-a-way and a pumice stone works great on the interior of the toilet.

BUILDING DISPLAYS:

All decorations including signs and flags cannot be displayed on the front windows or porches.  Holiday/Seasonal décor on doors is generally acceptable but must be in good taste and may be reviewed by management.

STUDENT LIVING MEETING:

There will be an informational meeting for all tenants each semester.  We will have more information for you after your arrival move-in weekend.  We will also post information on our calendar.

BICYCLES:

We do not require a permit, but we do ask that you keep them neatly lock on your building.

SCOOTERS & MOTORCYCLES:

They also do not require a permit and can be parked in the hashed areas of the parking lot.

KEYS:

You will be issued an apartment key at check-in. One mail key will be waiting for you in your apartment for all to use. You will be charged $35 for a lost apartment key and $35 for a lost mail key.

INTERNET ACCESS:

OPTIX speed wireless internet is available in each apartment. Their 24-hour student helpline is available to you if any issues should arise. Their number is 208-242-3711. Their service to you is included in our contract, please do not ever hesitate to give them a call.
